From GunchoWiki
GunchoComp is a competition to produce realms for Guncho.

[edit] Entries
- The comp began on April 3, 2009. Entries must be received no later than August 6, 2009.
- You may develop your realm online, using Guncho, or offline, using the I7 extension. Either way, your realm must not have been previously available to the public; you must know who has played it before judging starts. (If you're developing online, be sure to use Guncho's privacy settings to make the realm accessible only to yourself and your beta testers. That means: use the "Private" setting, and when you're ready for beta testers, add their names to the access list.)
- If you develop offline, you must submit your realm's source code to enter the competition. Entries that do not compile and run on the live Guncho system will not be accepted.
- Authors may submit no more than two realms.
- Entries will remain playable after the competition ends. By entering, you agree to grant the competition, Guncho, and the Interactive Fiction Archive the non-exclusive rights to host and/or distribute your realm for free.
[edit] Submitting
- Email jmcgrew at hansprestige.com with "Guncho" in the subject. Include the name of your realm if it's on Guncho, or the source code if you developed it offline.
[edit] Judging
- The judging period will be announced after the entry deadline. It is expected to last six weeks.
- Anyone except the comp organizer may be a judge. Entrants may vote on other entries, but not their own.
- A forum will be available for authors to explain the requirements of their realms (e.g. recommended number of players) and for judges to coordinate playing together.
- Judges may submit rankings in either of the two categories, or both:
- Best Use of Multiplayer, for the realm that best presents an experience that offline, single-player IF cannot.
- Best Replay Value, for the realm that best entices players to come back for more.
- A ranked choice voting method will be used. Judges will rank realms in each category from highest to lowest. Ties (two or more realms ranked equally) will be permitted.
- Judges must rank at least 5 entries per category, or at least half the entries if there are fewer than 10.
- Ties do not count toward this number: if you submit five choices for 1st place, you still need to have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place.
- Judges may play a realm for any length of time, or any number of times, before ranking it.
- Judges who play a realm together are encouraged to discuss the experience before deciding on a rank.
- Judges are allowed to discuss the entries in general, but should be careful when doing so in public forums. Clearly mark your posts to avoid accidental spoilers for other judges.
- Authors will be allowed to discuss their entries, but will not be allowed to play or edit them during the judging period.
[edit] Prizes
(To be announced. Donations to the prize pool are welcome.)
[edit] Miscellaneous
- Development on Guncho itself may continue during the entry period. If so, the comp organizer will work with entrants to ensure that their realms don't break.
- Entered realms must not interfere with the integrity of Guncho or the competition. Entries that do so will be edited or disqualified at the organizer's discretion.
- The comp organizer reserves the right to change the rules, and is the final arbiter on all questions of rule violations.
